JK Workers Party President Mir Junaid Mir Junaid Criticises assembly
debate.
Jammu & Kashmir demands Progress, Not Political Theatre: Mir Junaid
Srinagar Nov 04: Mir Junaid, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Workers Party,
has expressed disappointment over the legislative assembly session, criticizing it
for rehashing old debates surrounding Article 370 and 35A. In a strongly worded
statement, Junaid called the assembly’s focus on these long-settled constitutional
matters a “diversion” from the pressing issues facing the people of Jammu and
Kashmir.
“It is disheartening to see our elected representatives waste precious time on
outdated debates while the state faces real and urgent challenges,” Junaid said.
“Rather than addressing crucial matters like development, healthcare, education,
and security, the assembly seems preoccupied with revisiting political battles that
have already been resolved.”
He accused the assembly of indulging in “political theatrics” to seize media
attention, rather than offering constructive solutions for the welfare of the people.
Junaid emphasized that the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve action and
progress, not hollow gestures. He urged the leadership to focus on policies that
will uplift the state’s economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve better leadership that is committed to
addressing their real concerns. It’s time to shift the focus to rebuilding our state
and implementing policies that make a tangible difference in people’s lives,” he
added.
Junaid called on the assembly to prioritize accountability, progress, and genuine
leadership in future sessions, warning that history will judge those who waste the
time and patience of the people.
This statement comes at a time when Jammu and Kashmir faces multiple socio-
economic challenges, and citizens are demanding more from their representatives
in terms of concrete action and future vision.
