1. Editors Take On JK Assembly
    Shahid Imran

The incidents in the assembly today have openly highlighted the intense debate between 85 vs 5 on the contentious issue of 370. The resolution presented by Waheed Parra, strongly backed by Sajad Lone and three other MLAs, exposed Omar Abdullah’s Congress-supported regime, while the BJP openly opposed the private resolution bill. This issue will continue to escalate, as I previously mentioned, due to the election narrative that will cause sleepless nights for NC members and its allies.Although Congress has been a silent observer, their position will eventually become awkward and exposed. Notably, Sajad Lone vocally supported Waheed Parra’s resolution, along with independent MLA Sheikh Khurshid, brother of Er Rashid. Given the current scenario, achieving statehood seems like a distant dream and unachievable in the near future barricaded by the current regime.

Considering this, Omar Abdullah should think carefully before moving forward, as the BJP’s opposition to 370 and his silence, coupled with the speaker’s rejection, have led the politically aware people of J&K to suspect ulterior motives, thereby boosting the popularity of PDP and Sajad Lone as they raise concerns and hold the government accountable for their political narrative and campaigning set up during elections.
