Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has strongly criticized the demolition of temporary shops belonging to Kashmiri Pandit refugees at Muthi Camp in Jammu. These shops had been the primary source of livelihood for the refugees for over three decades. Bukhari expressed concern over the lack of prior arrangements by the administration to ensure the welfare of the affected individuals, as reported by KNS.
He urged that if the demolition was unavoidable, alternative solutions should have been provided to protect the livelihoods of the shop owners. Bukhari further called on the administration to either allow the shop owners to rebuild their businesses or offer them suitable alternatives to ensure they can sustain their families. His comments reflect the growing need for more consideration and support for vulnerable communities during such demolitions.
