Baramulla, August 25: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday claimed to have solved a theft case and in this regard one accused has been arrested.
In a statement police said, Tariq Ahmad Ganie S/O Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/O Yadipora Pattan has approached Police Station Baramulla with a written complaint that his vehicle Truck bearing registration No. JK05C/7109 LOADED WITH 375 BAGS OF Govt rice and was parked by his driver namely Zubair Ahmad Tantary R/O Yadipora Pattan at Kralhar near FCI Store on 20.08.2020.
On 22.08.2020, he found that all 375 bags of rice have been stolen by some unknown thieves.
On receipt of this complaint case FIR NO. 142/2020 U/S 380 IPC has been registered and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation several suspects were questioned. However, one suspect namely Javaid Ahmad Mir S/O Mohd Akbar Mir R/O Malpora Sopore confessed that he has stolen 375 bags of rice.
On his instance the rice was recovered and the accused was arrested.
