Srinagar: February 8: J&K Employees Joint Consultative Committee JKEJCC (UT), the largest
joint platform of employee associations, has announced support for the protest program on
February 10 for their demands on behalf of Jammu and Kashmir Casual Laborers United Front, a
forum of temporary employees. JKEJCC Chairman Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Khan said in a statement that
Jammu and Kashmir the President of Casual Laborers United Front, Mr. Imran Ahmed Paray, has
announced a peaceful protest at Srinagar’s Press Colony on February 10 to highlight the
legitimate demands of the temporary employees, including daily wagers and casual laborers, who
have been working for decades in various government departments, and JKEJCC fully supports
this program. said that it is the democratic and constitutional right of common people as well as
employees to raise their voices peacefully to highlight their legitimate demands and problems.
Senior trade union leader and chairman of JKEJCC Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Khan while declaring the call
of Mr. Imran Ahmad Paray as right said that 61 thousand daily wage workers in various
government departments of Jammu and Kashmir. Casual laborers, fair price shop dealers and
other daily workers have been performing their duties with full hard work and honesty despite
low wages for years and decades, but justice has not been provided to them till date, while many
daily wagers have also left this world while waiting. Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Khan Chairman of JKEJCC
reminded the government that daily wagers, casual laborers, College Local Fund Employees,
Hospital Development Fund Workers, School Contigent Paid Workers Asha and Anganwari
Workers, Fair price shop dealers and other daily workers were repeatedly promised and given
assurances, but till today they are waiting for justice and right. They appealed to the Hon’ble
lieutenant governor Shri Manoj Sinha and the Hon’ble chief minister Mr. Omar Abdullah that 61
thousand daily wage workers, casual laborers, fair price shop dealers and other daily workers
should be given permanent or regularized temporary jobs without delay.
