Mountain Dug for 90 Minutes, a Mouse Came Out: Omar Abdullah’s Budget Disappoints the Assembly BJP Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat
This budget is directionless and visionless. In his 90-minute speech, Omar Abdullah merely spoke about schemes of the BJP-led Central Modi Government and presented nothing new for the people. There was no fresh roadmap, no innovation, and no clear policy direction.
Daily wage workers have been completely forgotten in this budget. Despite being one of the most vulnerable sections of society, their long-pending issues found no mention, no assurance, and no timeline.
The issue of delivery workers, which remains one of the biggest concerns in Jammu & Kashmir, was mentioned in the budget, but without any clear timeline. Without a defined timeframe, such announcements offer no real relief and keep delivery workers in continued uncertainty.
Similarly, while allocations have been announced for the Social Welfare Department, there has been no discussion on the pending marriage assistance for our sisters. Many beneficiaries have still not received their long-pending dues, and the budget failed to address this serious gap in implementation.
Moreover, the budget lacked scope for meaningful discussion on critical public issues. There was no clarity, no roadmap, and no accountability. Overall, this budget failed to meet public expectations and reflects a serious disconnect from the real problems faced by the people.
