White-Collar Terrorism & Mafias a Grave Threat to Kashmiri Society: Umar Bhat
Socio-activist Umar Bhat has warned that white-collar terrorism and white-collar mafias have emerged as one of the gravest threats to Kashmiri society, posing a serious challenge not only to security agencies but also to the common people.
He stated that these elements, operating behind a façade of respectability and influence, are far more dangerous because they function silently from within society. Using their clean public image, they actively promote radicalisation, drug trafficking, and substance abuse, with Kashmiri youth being the primary targets.
Umar Bhat emphasized that white-collar mafias and terrorism sympathisers are deeply embedded within society and are systematically eroding its moral and social foundations. “They live among us, exploit our trust, and push our younger generation toward addiction, violence, and destruction,” he said.
Calling for decisive action, he asserted that exposing and dismantling this white-collar system is the collective responsibility of every Kashmiri. He warned that silence, fear, or indifference will only strengthen these networks and accelerate social decay.
He further stressed that protecting future generations is both a moral obligation and a societal duty. “Safeguarding our youth and guiding them toward a lawful, peaceful, and constructive path is essential for securing the future of Kashmir,” he added.
