Srinagar, April 9: JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) on Thursday expressed deep shock and grief over the sad demise of former Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Prof. Riyaz Punjabi who breathed his last at his Delhi residence after a brief illness.

In a statement issued to press President EJAC and Chairman JK Teachers Forum Mohd Rafique Rather described Prof Reyaz Punjabi a thorough gentleman, a scholar and a renowned academician of international repute, besides an efficient and visionary administrator and added that his death is a great loss to the nation as a whole. Rafique Rather said that Prof. Reyaz Punjabi,s contributions in the academic fields are immense and he will always be remembered especially for his unstinted efforts with regard to peace process in south Asia.
Rather extended sympathies and solidarity with bereaved family on behalf of entire EJAC leadership and employees fraternity of Jammu and kashmir and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and strength to bereaved family to bear with the loss.
