Srinagar, April 07:Continuing its drive against Drug menace, police arrested four drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Wednesday.
In a statement to news agency GNS, The police said that, today during naka checking at Tilgam Frestahar crossing Police Station Kreeri apprehended Issar Ahmad Magray son of Ab Khaliq Magray resident of Tilgam and 105 grams of charas like substance was recovered from his possession. FIR under NDPS Act has been registered and investigation taken up.
In a similar incident, Police Station Boniyar apprehended two persons near Sangam Bridge, Boniyar with a packet containing Heroin like substance on 06th April. The apprehended persons were identified as Mohmad Shafi Paray son of Ab. Samad Paray resident of Balkote Uri and Mukhtar Ahmad Paray son of Ab Majid Paray resident of Jabla Uri A/P Mothal Uri. On their disclosure, another person namely Matwali Ahmad son of Sardar Mohammad resident of Hthlanga Uri was apprehended and similar type of packet of Heroin like substance was recovered from his possession also. In all, 787 gms of Heroin like substance (worth lakhs) was recovered from these three drug Peddlers and Case under NDPS Act stands registered in this regard and investigation taken up.
Since the start of the month of April, 11 persons with banned drugs have been arrested by Baramulla Police under 07 cases of NDPS Act, reads the statement.
