Baramulla,July 15: In a significant move to educate various stakeholders associated with tourism sector about different measures that needs to be adopted for mitigating the risk of COVID-19 infection, district administration Baramulla today organized day long awareness cum training programme at the famous tourist destination Gulmarg in which tour and travel agents, tourist guides, Hoteliers,ponny wallas and other concerned participated.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo presided over the programme where as SDM Gulmarg, CEO GDA, district and sectoral officers among other concerned functionaries were present at the event.

On the ocassion, various resource persons including some medical doctors informed about various means and measures pertaining to COVID-19 pandemic during which they emphasised for adopting requisite advisories for averting exigencies.

Deputy Commissioner, in his speech complimented the participants and deliberated on awareness dissemination about the infection. He highlighted the role of different stakeholders in combating COVID-19 pandemic and stressed to remain proactive for averting eventualities. Moreover, DC reiterated that every possible assistance shall be provided from the part of district administration in this regard.

Earlier, the DC accompanied by various concerned officers inspects various vehicles at Pattan to monitor whether different SOPs and guidelines especially using face masks are being implemented by travellers/drivers. He urged upon the people to follow all the requisite advisories in letter and spirit for mitigating the risk of infection.
