Baramulla, Aug 15: Body of a missing soldier was recovered on Saturday from the snow in Gulmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after eight months, officials said.

The solider, according to officials had come under snow avalanche in Gulmarg, eight months ago. All efforts to trace him had failed.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the soldier from 11 Garhwal, had gone missing after coming under a snow avalanche at Roshni post in Gulmarg area of Baramulla on January 8 this year.

An army official told KNO the body of deceased soldier Rajinder Singh was spotted today and retrieved from the snow. The police, however, hasn’t received the body yet and officials said that the body of soldier is being brought to police station Gulmarg for completing legal formalities—(KNO)
