Will observe hunger strike on 31st December in solidarity with protesting students of North East
31st Dec. Tihar Jail: To express sympathy with the family of Angle Chekma an MBA student and entire grieved people of North East including Tripora, AIP leader and Jailed MP Baramulla Er Rasheed will observe a day long hunger strike in Tihar Jail on 31 st December 2025. In a statement through his legal team. Er Rasheed said. “It is unfortunate and shameful that cries of deceased Angle Chakma ‘I am an Indian not Chinese’ could not help him in conveniencing the fring racist goons of that the victim was an Indian. It took Uttrakhand Govt. 14 days to react only when Chakma died in Dehradun Hospital. People have a right to ask why was victim not shift to Delhi for better medical care.” Er Rasheed further added. “While instances of lynching and attacks on minorities in Bangladesh are highly condemnable and a blot on Bangladesh government, but how can similar incidents especially in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttarakhand and minorities of Odisa, Bihar and parts of country be put under the carpet by calling these racist communal goons as mere miscreants, which is unfortunate what happened to Angle Chakma though may be endorsed by all but mere condemnations do not bring precious human lives back even hanging of killers can not be claimed to be real justice as human life has no substitute. People of North East and Jammu and Kashmir face many similar issues including threat to their demography, culture, identity, language, jobs and land but suppression is the only tool to silence the voice of peaceful students. Let the ultra nationalists answer how long will they treat Kashmiris and people of Jammu and Kashmir like allians and enemies of India. To show solidarity with the peaceful protesting students of Tripura and North East and seeking urgent actions against goons attacking Kashmiris in various parts of India, on 31st December 2025 I would be observing a day long hunger strike in Tihar Jail as I have no other legitimate means to fight the brutalities of the racist frings who enjoy the backing of ruling part and the law enforcing agencies.”
