The Unique Iden, fica,on Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a campaign across all
districts of Jammu & Kashmir, urging Aadhaar holders to update their demographic details, biometrics, mobile number, and suppor,ng documents. State Project Manager Shoaib Khan stressed the importance of keeping Aadhaar details such as name, age, date of birth, biometrics, and other records up to date.
To support this effort, UIDAI, in collabora,on with departments like the School Educa,onD epartment, ICDS Poshan, banks, and the Department of Posts, has established over 1,000 Aadhaar centers in the Union Territory. More centers are being set up to make the process more accessible to residents.
Residents who received their Aadhaar over 10 years ago and have not updated their details since are strongly encouraged to do so. Updates can be completed online or offline at the nearest Aadhaar center by submiRng proof of iden,ty and address.
Parents must ensure their children’s biometric details are updated at the ages of 5 and 15 to keep Aadhaar ac,ve. Students are advised to align their Aadhaar details with school records and use birth cer, ficates issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths for updates. This will help avoid issues when applying for na,onal-level compe,,ve exams. Aadhaar centers are available in higher secondary schools, CDPO offices, Anganwadi centers, and Tehsil offices across Jammu & Kashmir. Addi, onally, special Aadhaar camps are being organized in partnership with district administra, ons to assist residents.

Keeping Aadhaar details up to date ensures ease of living, improved access to government services, and accurate authen,ca,on. UIDAI advises all residents to link their current mobile numbers and update proof of iden,ty and address to avoid disrup, ons in accessing benefits and Services
