The All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC), Jammu & Kashmir, successfully organized a one-day State Conference on “Propagation and Promotion of AYUSH (Unani) Medicine in Jammu & Kashmir” on Thursday, 30th October 2025, at Hajj House, Srinagar.

The event was held under the dynamic leadership of Hakeem Mohd Ashraf Lone, State President, J&K UT, and Dr. Mohd Yousuf Dinthoo, General Secretary, AIUTC. It brought together some of the most prominent names from the field of Unani and allied medical sciences, marking a significant step forward in the promotion of traditional healthcare systems across the region.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Sharma, Director of AYUSH J&K, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, National General Secretary, AIUTC; Professor Dr. Arif Zaidi, Ex-Dean, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi; Dr. Showkat Ali Yatoo, Registrar, J&K AYUSH Department; Moulana Mohd Rehmatulla Sahib; Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director, RRIUM Srinagar; and Professor Dr. Shariq Masoodi, Ex-Dean, SKIMS Srinagar.

The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from leading researchers, PhD scholars, MD doctors, and Unani practitioners from various institutions across the Valley. Experts highlighted the importance of Unani medicine in contemporary healthcare, emphasizing the urgent need for greater awareness, systematic research, and integration of traditional and modern medical sciences.

In his address, Hakeem Mohd Ashraf Lone reaffirmed AIUTC’s commitment to strengthening Unani medicine at the grassroots level and urged authorities to provide institutional and policy-level support to practitioners and researchers. The distinguished guests commended the ongoing efforts of AIUTC in promoting holistic healthcare in Jammu & Kashmir.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contribution of all dignitaries, delegates, and participants. The organizers expressed special gratitude to the AIUTC State Team for their tireless efforts in making the conference a grand success.
