KUPWARA, 31 DEC: Showkat Masoodi was declared winner with 755 votes, win by 216.
“It is a great honour for me that the traders elected me as their president. I will work for the development of traders as I have worked in the past as a Social Worker,” Masoodi told Kupwara Times after he was declared elected.
A number of people including civil society members congratulated Showkat Masoodi for becoming the president of the federation.
The day long elections of traders federation of Kupwara was held with fervour, Kupwara under the chairman election board. The voting was held from 9 am to 5:30 pm.
