Recovery notices issued to encroachers in Pulwama: District Magistrate

Commercial complex ,shops , poultry farm constructed on Kascharie land grounded.

Pulwama, September 28: District Administration Pulwama conducted massive demolition drive to clear the encroachments and illegal constructions in Pulwama town, here today.
The Drive was headed by District Development Commissioner Dr Raghav Langer, who was accompanied Tehsildar Pulwama, EO Municipal Committee and other officers and officials of concerned departments.

During the drive various illegally raised structures in the main market were pulled down which include a commercial complex near district hospital, shops at Drusso besides a poultry farm at wagam .

On the occasion , DDC ,said that District Administration has initiated action against the offenders who have raised illegal structures in the town particularly along roadsides and on footpaths. He said that all encroachments which have been raised illegally will be demolished and no such construction will be allowed in future.

DDC asked people not to indulge in illegal construction activities and encroachments as violators would be dealt strictly under law.

DDC further added that the demolition drive in the town will pave way for decongestion while having judicious use of the land for public purpose.

Meanwhile District Magistrate Pulwama Dr. Raghav Langer directed Executive Officer Municipal committee pulwama to issue Recovery notices against the illegal encroachers of state /Khachriae land , illegal construction of shops so that the expenditure incurred upon the lifting of debris and dismantling of illegal structures shall be borne by the voilaters.

District Magistrate has also directed Executive Officer Municipal Committee to issue notices to the illegal encroachers under the provisions of J&K Municipal Act 2000 for the recovery of same . He also instructed for immediate recovery of the dues from illegal encroachers and in case of failure of deposition of recovery amount the same shall be recovered as arrears of land revenue under section 90 of J&K land Revenue Act 1996 which shall be resorted through Tehsildar.

DM warned people particularly individuals , Institutions and Organisations to refrain from encroaching state /Kachariae land as stern action would be initiated under law.
