In a significant move aimed at reinvigorating its public outreach People’s Democratic Party on thursday nominated its Senior leader from Baramulla Mr Mohammad Rafique Rather, as the official Spokesperson of the party with immediate effect. The announcement was made by the Chief Spokesperson of the party Dr. Mehboob Beig, in a statement issued from the party headquarters in Srinagar today.
A former trade union leader, turned politician Mr. Rather has joined the PDP in 2022 after voluntarily retiring from his government service. Rather was a senior lecture in Economics and was widely respected across the society for his intellectual acumen and contributions to society and employees fraternity.
Renowned for his inspiring speeches, integrity, and strong connection with the grassroots, Mr. Rather is seen a leader who has quickly established himself as a dynamic and influential figure in political circles.
Party insiders believe his appointment as the Spokesperson will further strengthen the PDP’s outreach efforts and help in building a pro-people narrative that resonates with the masses.Pertinently few weeeks ago, PDP had dissolved all party posts following its recent setback in the Assembly elections and today spokesperson were nominated a new and Rather has been retained keeping his immense contribution in consideration.
Meanwhile, many party leaders have welcomed the decision, expressing confidence that Mr. Rather will help to propagate the party’s policies and programs to nook and corner of the state and that his role will not only strengthen the PDP’s connection with the people but also energize its political vision and mission with renewed vigor.
