Kupwara, Mar 17:Dozens of parents staged a protest demonstration against authorities over ‘unwarranted closure’ of a Primary School in Kalaroos of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports reaching Global News Service (GNS) that the agitated parents alleged that the school at Kanipora has remained closed for two consecutive days, even as the school authorities, according to them, ‘failing to justify the unwarranted closure.’
“Our wards have been already waiting for nearly two years now to go to schools, but when the time came it is the school authorities who are taking these little souls on a ride”, they said.
When GNS contacted Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Khumriyal over the issue, the official said that he has deputed teachers to the school. However the official was unable to justify as to why the school remained closed for two consecutive days.
Meanwhile Chief Education Officer (CEO) Abdul Hamid Fanie said that he was out of station and once back will look into the matter accordingly.
