Residents Seek Early Redressal of Issue
Srinagar, Nov 20 : Months after Public Health Engineering (PHE) digged-up a road stretch for laying water pipeline along National Highway at Sempora, the spot however lies unattended causing huge inconvenience to the local residents.
A delegation from the area told GNS that the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department had macadamized road from Sempora to Panthachowk in the month of July.
The Public Health Engineering Department Sempora Srinagar located at Tangnar II digged up the road near Shuhul Motors Sempora to lay a water pipeline in the area. However months after, the spot has been left unattended causing huge inconvenience to the local residents.
The continuous water leakage from the pipes, as per the delegation, has weathered out the road stretch even as potable water is getting wasted due to callous approach from the PHE department.
“We have apprised the department concerned on various occassions however nothing significant has been done in this regard so far” they said.
Urging the department to wake-up to the genuine concern, the delegation said that “We hope the issue would be redressed on a priority basis.”
