Baramulla, Aug 06 : Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Manoj Sinah, whose name was cleared for the post of Lieutenant Governor of J&K Thursday morning by the Government of India is expected to arrive in Srinagar in the afternoon and he will be administered oath of office today in Rajbhawan Srinagar.
Official sources said, “Sinha arrived in Srinagar later on Thursday afternoon. He will be administered oath as the new LG of J&K Friday morning at Rajbhawan Srinagar,”
The change took place on the first anniversary of the centre’s move to scrap special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state into two UTs—Ladakh and J&K.
Sinha has been credited with ensuring the completion of projects within set timelines during his time as Minister. Several people who know Sinha and have worked with him said, “He gets work delivered within the stipulated time, and has a very congenial style of working. He is always accessible to both officers and the public. He is a quick decision maker.”
