Baramulla, August 25 : District Magistrate Baramulla, G N Itoo re-impose lockdown from 25 August to 29 August in view of spike in Covid-19 positive cases over past few days across the Baramulla District as local governments try to shield the health system from being overwhelmed.
While talking to Kashmir Crown one of the Trader said, “ there is no use of re-imposing the lockdown instead the administration should focus on SOP’s should be strictly followed by the public also the public should be responsible themselves by using mask in public places and maintaining social distancing.”
He further added, “ There are no restrictions on public transportations , shutdown of shops is causing loss to traders.”
“ It is very unfortunate that ultimately we traders are suffering because of this decision of the Administration of re-imposing the lockdown. If we traders are tortured in this way now we will not abide to any rules or laws imposed by administration regarding lockdown and will open our shops whatever the outcome would be ”said traders association General secretary ,Tariq Mugloo.
“ I tried contacting DC Baramulla but there was no response from him till late night as he knew traders association is trying to seek the clarification for re-imposing the lockdown when the situation of Coronavirus cases is under control in Baramulla”, he added.
District Magistrate Baramulla , G N Itoo said , “ Administration has to re-impose the lockdown to break the chain of spike in Covid 19 cases, public and shopkeepers are not following SOPs hence there has been rise in Covid related deaths in Baramulla of young people under age of 40 years. It is request to public to come forward and get themselves tested so that the Administration has the actual record of the severity and real situation of the infection spread among public in Baramulla.”
