March 16, 2021:Kulgam Police in continuing its drive against social evils, acting on a specific information regarding gambling near Sopat Gundipora crossing, police party of Police Station Devsar led by SHO Devsar on tip off raided the gambling site and arrested 04 persons, stake money of Rs 5500 and a set of playing cards were recovered from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
1. Jahangir Ahmad Shah
S/O Mohd Ahsan Shah.
2. Abdul Ahad Bhat
S/O Mohd Ismail Bhat
3. Abdul Rashid Bhat
S/O Abdul Gani Bhat &
4. Javid Ahmad Shah
S/O Ghulam Hassan Shah, all the residents of Gundipora.
In this regard, a case FIR No.12/2021 U/S 13 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Devsar & investigation taken up.
