Kathua; 31 May: As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Police has executed attachment operation by PS Billawar resulting in the attachment of One storey Building i.e immovable property worth rupees 20.56 lacs owned by drug Peddler namely Imran Ali S/o Shamash Din R/o Malhar A/P Dadwara Tehsil Billawar Distt. Kathua.

The action was taken by Police team headed by SHO PS Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SP Ops. Upper Kathua Sh. Aumer Iqbal and SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar JKPS and over all supervision of worthy SSP Kathua Sh. Shobit Saksena IPS under sections 68 A.2 (c),& E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions for attachment of properties of drug peddlers/smugglers.

The drug Peddler Imran Ali S/o Shamash Din R/o Malhar A/P Dadwara Tehsil Billawar is presently in Judicial custody in case FIR No. 144 /2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29/NDPS Act of Police Station Billawar.

The Immovable property (single storey building ) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/inquiry conducted by the police with the help of Revenue department. The properties was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of Kathua Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed this unprecedented initiative of Kathua against drug dealers.
