Listens to issues of people at Outreach Camp

KATHUA, AUGUST 23:- District Development Commissioner, Om Parkash Bhagat today conducted extensive tour of Bani and Duggan blocks and listened to the demands of the local people at an Outreach Camp.

On way, a delegation of panchs, sarpanchs led by BDC Chairman Bani Block, Babu Khan projected the demands and problems of the area. The DDC assured the delegation that their demands would be redressed on the priority basis.

Later, an outreach camp was organised at Government High School Duggan. Block Development Council, Chairperson of Block Duggan, Neelam Devi, Sarpanchs, panchs and a large number of people attended the outreach camp.

The PRIs apprised the DDC regarding the demands of their block, which included electricity poles, road connectivity, release of pending MNREGA payments, adequate staff in educational institutions, etc.

Responding to the demands, the DDC directed the concerned departments to mitigate the problems of the people on priority and submit action taken report.

Meanwhile, the DDC stressed upon elected Panchayat members to take active part in planning and execution of development projects in their respective areas. He directed the departments to formulate the projects in consultation with elected members of panchayats.

He also called upon PRI representatives to aware people about maintaining social distance and frequent hand washing to keep Covid and other infections at bay.

The DDC also gave away 50 Domicile certificates to the people during the outreach camp.

Later, the DDC visited Dhaggar area and inspected various sites for developing these as tourist destinations. He said potential places of the area would be developed to make Dhaggar a tourism hub.

ADC Basholi, Tilak Raj, SDM Bani, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, XEN PWD Basholi and BDO Bani accompanied the DDC during the visit.
