Karnah 30 Dec 2020: The armies of India and Pakistan Wednesday exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The locals told the Kashmir Crown that India and Pakistan troops traded gunfire along the LoC in the evening, triggering panic in Dhani, Sadhpora areas.

“The cross broder shelling is so intense that the people in far off villages were also hearing the sound of explosions,” they said.

A police officer said that the Pakistan army initiated an “unprovoked ceasefire violation” this evening along the LoC in multiple locations including Dhani by firing mortars and other weapons. The Indian Army gave a “befitting reply to the fire” he said.

The officer further added that no loss of life or injury was reported yet.
