Kupwara, Dec 10:Police on Thursday arrested two persons alleged for possession of contraband here along highway at Drugmulla, an official said.
According to the official a naka was laid by a police party near Shalpora-Bramri during which a car bearing Registration number HP22E-5622 was intercepted.
Upon checking of the vehicle, the party, as per the official, recovered around 800 grams of ‘Brown Sugar’ leading to the arrest of two on-board persons.
Identifying the duo as Bilal Ahmad Dar from Sadeeq Colony Sopore and another as Mohammad Shafi of Bomai Sopore, the official said that both of them were arrested on the spot.
“A case has been registered under FIR number 45/2020 under sections 8/21 of NDPS Act and further investigations taken up even as more arrests in this regard are expected”, the official added. (GNS)
