Rajouri, March, 03:District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday paid a visit to Sasal Kote area of Doongi block where the building for the Government Degree college Doongi is to be constructed.

DDC was accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police,Chandan Kohli; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri, Mohd Zubair besides BDC Chairperson Doongi,Raiz Chowdhury; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.

The concerned Executive Engineer informed that the project has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 36 crores and the work on the project would be started once the administrative approval of the project is received.

It is pertinent to here that a group of locals from Doongi block had apprised the DDC that the classes of the college students are being conducted at GGHS Doongi due to the non availability of the college building and demanded for the immediate start of work on the GDC so that the classes could be shifted at the new college building.

Later the DDC along with the SSP also planted plants at Higher School Keri and Corps battle school at Sarol under green drive.
