Bandipora, August 10: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday convened a meeting of District Level Consultation Committee to finalize the Annual Action Plan under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) 2020-21, and 4 year Mid Term Plan for 2020-21 to 2023-24.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held with regard to development of border areas of Bandipora district and the action plan under BADP was finalized to the tune of Rs 7.59 Cr.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Superintending Engineer PWD, Chief Education Officer Bandipora Javid Iqbal, officers of Border Security Force and other senior officers of the district.
It was given that the team of Joint Director Planning conducted a micro analysis of each village in border areas to assess the availability of basic amenities and identify the areas that need attention on priority.
The meeting discussed different projects of public interest that needs to be completed on priority in Health and Education sector besides development of roads.
During the meeting the Deputy Commissioner stressed on immediate tendering of the approved works under BADP and urged to ensure quality works.
Dr Owais also asked the officers to expedite the work keeping in view the limited working season in border areas . He also directed to stock enough fuel in Gurez for DG sets so that people don’t face problems.
The meeting also discussed various steps to be taken to improve the internet connectivity in Gurez and Tulail valley. He said the projects taken up under BADP shall boost the socio-economic status of the border areas and improve the living standard of the people in border areas.
