Kupwara, Feb 10: Doctors Association Kashmir Kupwara Wing on Wensday condemned in strong words assault on doctor, paramedic 07/02/21,and 09/02/21 in SDH Kupwara by some goons .

Expressing outrage, President DAK Kupwara Dr Ajyaz Ahmad Bhat said this brute act of hooliganism against doctor and paramedic staff is unacceptable.

“On 09/020/21 few goons barged into the ER room of SDK Kupwara and broke the doors and manhandled the staff when they were discharging their night duties at ER section of SDH Kupwara.Meanwhile police has taken the cognizance of the matter and FIR has been lodged against the hooligans”

*Strongly condemning* the incidents at SDH Kupwara by some hooligans, *DAK Kupwara, President* stressed up on the authorities to immediately book the culprits behind the attack and take stringent action against the goons.

*Dr Zia General Secretary DAK Kupwara* said similarly another incident took place on 07/02/21 when the staff of SDH Kupwara were performing their sunday night duties and few people barged inside the sections and hurled abuses and harassed the staff.

“This is not the first time that the doctors and health care staff are attacked by the goons on duty. This is going in since long and our concern for patient care is taken as our helplessness. Doctors put in their blood and sweat to save patients in extremely hard conditions and Covid 19 Pandemic and instead of appreciation they are assaulted. Doctors and paramedics cannot deliver their services efficiently because of insecurity which adversely affects patient care, he said.

Dr Gulzar Sr Vice President DAK Kupwara* said there has to be an end to this routine mad pattern of atrocities against Covid worries otherwise it is difficult for doctors and Health care staff to work under such hostile conditions, he added.

Dr Ashiq Vice President DAK Kupwara* demands that culprits should be immediately arrested and booked under non bailable offence.They should be given an exemplary punishment so that such acts of violence against doctors are prevented in future.

Meanwhile DAK Kupwara has appealed the authorities to take utmost precaution while issuing any statement/sharing any inciting material germane to Covid warriors as it can demoralise the spirit and make them vulnerable to attacks.

DAK warned to halt the health care services in entire Kupwara in case the authorities failed to take action against the goons involved in attacks and vandalism in the hospitals.
