Srinagar, April 10:Police continued its crackdown on drug peddlers here in North Kashmir’s Baramulla on Saturday.
In a statement to news agency GNS, the police said that today on police Station Sheeri recovered 105 gms of contraband Charas from Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Qadir Sheikh resident of Heewan during naka checking at Heewan Chowk and was booked under NDPS Act.
The statement further stated that yesterday police Station Kunzer recovered 210 grams of Charas like substance and 5 Kgs of Charas powder from the house of one drug peddler namely Noor Mohammad Sheikh son of Gh Nabi Sheikh resident Ward N 1 Kunzer in presence of 1st Class Magistrate Kunzer and arrested him under NDPS Act.
Similarly, on 08 April at about 1800 hours, during Naka checking at Mirgund, 46 Bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from a person identified as Manzoor Ahmad Parray son of Ghulam Ahmad Parray resident of Lawaypora riding on Motorcycle JKO1G-5064.
In a similar incident, at about same time, 80gms of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of one Khawaja Momin Abass son of Khawaja Fida Hussain resident of Gund Khawaja Qasim at Kungamdara.
Both the persons have been booked under NDPS Act and Investigation is going on.Sofar, 15 persons have been arrested in 11 cases under NDPS Act by Baramulla Police since the beginning of this month.
Meanwhile, People of District Baramulla hail the efforts of Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of Drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship in District Baramulla, reads the statement.
