Srinagar, Mar 01: Crime Branch Kashmir on Monday organised a daylong seminar on the theme ‘Drug Abuse and Criminal Behaviour’ under its Civic Action Programme (CAP) here to educate the youth about ill-effects of drug abuse and its overall impact on the society.

A statement received by News Agency GNS reads that the occasion was attended by Imtiaz Ismail Parray (IPS), SSP Crime Branch Kashmir, Vinay Kumar SSP Anti Narcotics Task Force besides by other officers from Crime Branch Kashmir, doctors, students and other dignitaries.

The participants to the programme, as per the statement, threw light on various aspects of drug menace, its related dynamics and deliberated on the ways to curb the abuse through effective policing and community participation.

The main thrust was given on consumption of drugs, ruining lives of innumerable youth even as imminent threat posed by the abuse on younger generation, the statement reads.

Participants mostly from student community, were requested to give wide publicity and play their vital role as ambassadors in the eradication of this drug menace.

Students, NGO’s and Civil Society members pledged to extend their support in the eradication of drugs from the society at large, the statement reads.
