Jammu, Oct 03 (NVI) Jammu and Kashmirโs BJP chief Ravinder Raina today said that BJP will emerge as the single largest party on October 8 when results of J&K Assembly polls will be out.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Raina said that for the first time in past ten years, J&K witnessed historic polls that saw record participation of people in the polls. โIt was for the first time, that J&K witnessed peaceful ever polls. I am hopeful that BJP will emerge as the single largest party and will form the government on its own,โ he said.
He said the way people voted signals that people have expressed faith in democracy and also in the vision of Prime Minister Narendera Modi that entailsโSab Ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas and Sab ka Vishwas.
To a query, who would be the Chief Minister in case BJP wins with a majority, Raina said that it was not important who would be the Chief Minister. โWhat is important is that who wins with the majority. I believe BJP will win a full majority,โ he said.
He said the massive campaigning of Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath and BJP national president J P Nadda in Jammu that saw massive participation of people, will bear fruit. โI am sure that not only in Jammu but also in Kashmir Lotus will bloom,โ Raina said.
Asked whether BJP was mulling Hindu or Dogra Chief Minister in J&K, Raina dodged the question saying, โthoda intezar ka maza lijiye (have some patience till October 8).
He thanked police, CRPF, BSF, SSB and other security agencies for ensuring smooth and peaceful ever polls in J&K. โI also thank Election Commission of India (ECI) for making up to the mark arrangements in J&K for smooth conduct of polls. I also tank Chief Electoral Office and LG administration for making elaborate arrangements for peaceful and hassle-free elections in J&K,โ the BJP J&K chief said.
