Kashmir Crown. Sopore:Family members of a pregnant woman from Rohama on Thursday alleged that the baby in her womb died because of medical negligence of doctors in the Sopore Sub-divisional hospital. The incident had triggered tension among the patients undergoing treatment in the hospital following the incident. The family members of the victim staged a protest demonstration inside the hospital campus today demanding immediate arrest and action action one lady doctor namely Parveen. A huge contingent of police also rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control as agitating people wanted action against the doctor who as per them should be booked under Murder charges. The demonstration was lifted by the family members following the intervention of the senior police officers who assured them that the matter would be looked into. The family members of the woman Khalida Bani wife of Tariq Ahamad lone, a resident of Rohama Baramulla , said was brought to the hospital on Thursday late night. She complained of labour pain on during night. It was alleged that the on duty nurses called up the doctor under whom the patient was treated. The doctor namely Dr Parveen allegedly told the nurses to administer a pain killer on the patient. The family members of the patient alleged that she felt relieved after she was administered the injection but stopped feeling any movement of the baby following the incident. They said that doctor told them to take patients back home.One Of attendants told Kashmir Crown that patient developed pain again in the morning.We took patient again to sopore where USG was done and baby was found dead inside the womb.This infuriated the family members of the victim. They staged a demonstration alleging negligence on the part of the doctor who cheated with them and played with the life of a pregnant lady. They also demanded a high level inquiry into the incident. They questioned the authority and said why would the doctor not diagnose patient and give blindly pain killer and administer a particular injection without seeing the condition of the patient. The baby died in the mother’s womb as wrong diagnosis was done allegedly by Dr Parveen and wrong injection was administered on the patient, alleged the family members of patient from Rohama. Talking to Kashmir Crown Editor-In Chief Shahid Imran,Director Health Services Dr Dolma assured strict action against the doctor if found medical negligence.She said the death of the baby would be enquired reasons behind this death will come to public,she added. denied the charges. She said we have good doctors in sopore hospital but the real reason for the this death will be investigated.
