A sense of despair gripped the wani Mohalla Hudipora when a packhouse containing apple boxes worth lakhs went up in flames in dead of the night.
Locals immediately rushed to the spot and called the nearest Fire Service Station Sangrama which is 11 Kilometers away from the area.
According to locals, When fire tenders arrived at the spot, everything in the shed was already destroyed.
The owner of the horticulture packhouse Mohammad Akbar Wani was informed by neighbours about the fire incident that took place at around 4 AM.
According to the family, almost all the apple production of this year gutted in the fire and caused huge financial damage go them.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
