Baramulla, July 28: District Administration announced three-day relaxation for Eid shopping, the announcement left both residents as well as the shopkeepers surprised.
“ There would be a three- day relaxation from July 28 to 30 ,prior to Eid, to allow people to buy sacrificial animals and other goods “, Said Pandurang K Pole, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.
As per reports , Mutton Dealers and those associated with the cattle trade were seen at different places inclunding Eidgah setting up stalls to sell sacrificial animals.
“ We have already stated that we will be cooperating in the implementation of Covid-19 related S0Ps . We cannot afford lockdown as we are suffering due to all this. Economic activities have come to a halt for the last one year after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019”, Said Kamran Javaid, a local.
“ Main markets in other districts of Kashmir Valley including Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Budgam, Kupwara, Bandipora also witnessed heavy rush of customers despite Covid-19 pandemic, however, majority of the customers and shopkeepers were seen wearing face masks.”, Reports said.
