Baramulla , 03 October :The third phase of “Back to Village” program is start to began by Jammu and Kashmir Administration from October 2, on the occasion of 151th anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi for a period of 10 days officials said.

Lieutenant Governor , Manoj Sinha said , ‘Perfect way to honour the Father of the Nation on his birthday’. Back to village program is not for one person, panchayat or district , but for the whole UT and everyone should come forward to own it and play their important role to uplift the socio-economic condition of rural Jammu-Kashmir.

LG said that special focus should be laid on coverage of beneficiaries under different scholarship schemes, Adhaar seeding of Ration cards, work under MGNREGA, distribution of sports kits, installation of two dustbins in every panchayat for solid and liquid waste management, water conservation and identification of at least two young entrepreneurs, road connectivity, power and water supply, official spokesperson said.

“He also informs all DC’s and SP’s like Jan Abhiyan , Back to village 3 will also be monitored very closely at High level to assess the ground level situation in the union territory”, spokesperson added.

As per reports , In the first two phases of the initiatives 4,129 projects were completed at a cost of Rs 110 crore , while 1,607 projects valued at Rs 65 crore are in progress , as per a pre-third phase review
