Three persons have been arrested after fake currency worth Rs 45,000 was allegedly recovered from their possession in Villagam area of district, a police officer said today.
Police team led by SHO Police Station Villgam Mohd Sulieman smashed the fake currency racket and arrested the accused under the supervision of SDPO Handwara Tariq Mehmmood.
The accused were identified as Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Amir Maqbool Bhat both residents of Hafrada Villagam and Nisar Ahmad bhat a resident of Dahama Villgam.
As per police accused were intercepted at tarathpora crossing area of the district.
Fake currency of Rs 500 denominations, worth Rs 45,000 was recovered from them,” the officer said.
A case has been lodged and police is investigating the case, he added. (RNA)
