National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached property of incarcerated Chief of Dukhtaran-E-Millat Asiya Andrabi.
According to an order pasted at the main gate of the house situated at Iqbal Colony Soura here, the NIA has barred sale and purchase of the property prior to its permission.
The order has been issued by Superintendent of police National investigation Agency who is also the chief investigating officer of NIA in the funding case registered at the behest of government of India. He said NIA believes that property represents proceeds of (Unlawful Activities ) and has been used for furtherance of (illegal) activities of a proscribed (illegal) organization Dukhtaran–E-Millat.
The Director General of Police J&K has granted his approval to attach the property mentioned in the schedule in accordance with the provision of section 25(1) of (P) Act, 1967 vide his order NO. 6518 08.12.2018.
“Therefore in exercise of the powers granted under section 25 of the unlawful activities (Prevention) Act 1967, I hereby order the attachement of the property specified in the schedule here under as proceeds of (unlawful activities) it is further directed to all concerned not to transfer, sale or otherwise deal with the property in any manner whatsoever, except with the prior permission of the undersigned.”
The Schedule of the property, he said, includes House situated at Zair Number 34/1, 35/1 Iqbal colony, 90 feet road Soura registered in the name of Late Mehmooda Begum w/o Ghulam Hassan shah who is mother in law of accused Asiya Andrabi.
