Government forces on Wednesday  launched a cordon-and-search operation at Baramulla village of north Kashmir’s district.

Reports reaching KNO said  a joint team of army’s 52 RR, and Special operation group(SOG) Baramulla laid a siege at gohan village of Baramulla district.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the movement of some suspected militants.

He said door to door search operation was initiated and all the entry and exit points of the village have been sealed.

The search operation was underway in the village when this report was filed.No contact was established with the militants so far.

However, there were no immediate reports of any untoward incident.(KNO)
