Handwara, Nov, 20: Spokesperson, CRoPP, Mr Tauseef Ahmad War has termed it as an act of cowardice and demanded strict action against the alleged couple. Mr War said, ” this type of assault reveals that advocates as officers of court are not safe within the four walls of courts”. Mr War reiterated, “Advocates must feel safe as they are an important pillar of adminstration of justice.”
Mr War, while quoting, Chairman CRoPP, Adv Abdul Majid Banday, has termed this unfortunate incident as an assault on the independence and impartiality of judiciary. Mr Banday said, “although, this act doesn’t reflect the collective mindset of the people, however, it shows that Advocates need a more advanced protection to work in a free environment. Therefore, law enforcing agencies must ensure that Advocates are not harmed at any cost, failing which, it will be impossible for lawyers fraternity to help in the adminstration of justice.”
Vice – Chairman, CRoPP, Adv Mir Imran lauds the efforts of Police for lodging an FIR against the erring couple. Fast track investigation must be initiated and exemplary punishment be served to the alleged couple at an earliest to serve the ends of justice. Otherwise, it will be impossible for the large populace to pin its hopes on courts as a last resort of justice and looking at advocates as the saviours ” Mr Mir added.
